As a working class organizer from rural Florida, I never had the resources, connections, or funding to lead the campaigns I cared about. That didn't stop us. My friends and I organized the 2022 walkouts, thousands of students across the state standing up against the "Don't Say Gay" bill. We toppled school board members who tried to ban books. We proved young people can win.
Youth Action Fund exists so the next organizer doesn't have to start from zero. You bring the fight. We bring the training, the funding, and the backup.

2023–2024
Building the Movement
We opened our doors in July 2023 to flip Gen-Z organizing in Florida on its head. Within months, YAF sponsored dozens of campaigns, built a coalition of allied organizations, and trained and mobilized thousands of young people, with an entirely youth-led team. As our flagship SPARK program grew, we mobilized our generation to the ballot box ahead of the 2024 elections, from abortion access to legalizing recreational marijuana.

We're building on what works and testing what's next.
New efforts in labor organizing. Career pathways for young, pro-democracy professionals. A scaled up SPARK advising program reaching more organizers in more corners of the state.

Since our founding, our team has driven Florida's youth movement ecosystem forward. Our staff and board are young organizers ourselves, with backgrounds leading civic engagement work at organizations like March For Our Lives, People Power Florida, Youth Democracy Lab, and the Sunrise Movement.
